OFPC Regulation for the Volunteer Firefighter Enhanced Cancer Disability Benefits Program is Adopted
The NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control has adopted the Regulation towards the recent Volunteer Firefighter Enhanced Cancer Disability Benefits Program (GML 205-cc). Specifically, 9 NYCRR 210.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

New Anti-Sexual Harassment Legislation
On April 12, 2018, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed a bill enacting anti-sexual harassment legislation.
New Policy and Training Requirement
- All employees must complete the model training or a comparable training that meets the minimum standards by January 1, 2019
- Employees must be trained at least once per year. In subsequent years, this may be based on the calendar year, anniversary of each employee’s start date or any other date the employer chooses.
- All employees must complete sexual harassment training within 30 calendar days of starting their job
